The Dongara Golf Club Par 72 course is a short 5535 metres but quite challenging. The 18 holes of grass greens have some spectacular views of the twin town site of Dongara and Port Denison & Indian Ocean. This course is the best kept secret north of Perth– a real gem.
The Irwin Recreation & Function Centre is a recreation, leisure and fitness centre that provides both social and active programs and opportunities for the whole family. With a state of the art gymnasium, Zumba, Yoga, badminton, squash, tennis and heaps more. Nearby is also a BMX track and skate park for the kids. Rollerskating events held regularly. Denison Bowling Club
offers superb greens and a friendly relaxed atmosphere. Visitors are welcome to join in the weekly scroungers games held each Friday. More details can be found here
The best way to discover our charming historic building is in on the Dongara Heritage Walk. Purchase a booklet from the Visitors Centre and begin your journey back in time. The 4km walk highlights 28 heritage buildings. Focal points of the walk include the Royal Flour Mill built in 1894, the Old Police Station built in 1870 and Russ Cottage.
